Rooftop Solar

By installing a home solar system, house owners can now sell home solar electricity to TNB.

SEDA Malaysia Feed in Tariff (FiT) incentive provides a fixed rate to the electricity generator (e.g. house owners) for every kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity generated and exported to the grid. This rate provided under FiT is at a premium over the electricity rate that is being paid to TNB (Tenaga Nasional Bhd) as it is an incentive for the generation of renewable green clean energy.

Make Investment by Selling Solar Energy Back to TNB

YES! You read the title right!

It is indeed possible to generate money.  Thanks to the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) - a statutory agency set up by Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water, the sole purpose of SEDA is to serve as a one-stop Renewable Energy Centre.

Solar Energy

In order to kick start the green revolution towards renewable energy in Malaysia, SEDA designed Feed in Tariff (Fit) incentive. The FiT incentive facilitates the sale of electricity generated from cleaner renewable source such as biomass, biogas, small hydro and solar photovoltaic (PV), to be sold back to utility companies at a fixed price for a specific period of time.

Land of eternal sunshine is what Malaysia have been known for, though we do have our share of rainy, cloudy and more recently, hazy days, Malaysia still received high concentration of strong sunray throughout the year.

With this, you can leverage the geographical advantage to increase positive cash flow using Solar Photovoltaic System.

What is it and how does it work?

This will open up opportunity to you to install solar panels on the rooftop of your house which absorb radiation energy emitting from the sun. The energy being absorbed will go through a process known as a photovoltaic process, during this process electricity is generated. The generated electricity will be linked to electricity grid and exported into the grid. A utility company such as TNB then pays the individual, a fixed premium rate per kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity.

How does the individual house owner benefit?

Average home owner have been granted the opportunity to generate passive income with this FiT incentive. For example, a 4kW system can earn RM 1.3708 per unit of electricity generated which translating to approximately RM 7000-odd. Output is supposedly guaranteed for a period of 21 years.
